Lorenzo Tavelli (Italy)
Topics covered: innovative and advanced root coverage procedures, management of peri-implant soft tissues, prevention and treatment of biological and aesthetic implant complications, aesthetic implantology, and papilla augmentation.
This intensive 2-day course offers a comprehensive, problem-focused approach to contemporary and advanced soft tissue grafting around teeth and dental implants. Led by Dr. Lorenzo Tavelli, periodontist, scientist, international speaker, and co-developer of the Tunneled Coronally Advanced Flap (TCAF), the course combines evidence-based surgical principles with real-life clinical decision-making to simulate common and challenging cases, allowing participants to acquire practical skills and treatment planning strategies directly applicable to daily practice. By the end of the course, participants will have gained the confidence needed to perform soft tissue grafts, identify risk factors, prevent complications, and apply contemporary surgical concepts with a high level of predictability and aesthetics.
Lorenzo Tavelli, DDS, MS, PhD, is a periodontist, clinical researcher, and Assistant Professor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. A graduate of the University of Milan, he went on to complete a three-year residency in periodontology and earn a Master of Science degree at the University of Michigan. A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Tavelli has also served as Director of the Postgraduate Periodontology Program at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
His clinical and research work focuses primarily on microsurgical and minimally invasive soft tissue grafting procedures around teeth and dental implants. Dr. Tavelli regularly speaks at major international symposiums and has published more than 150 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. He currently serves as Associate Editor of the journal Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research.
Dr. Tavelli’s contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous prestigious research awards, including the 2024 ITI André Schroeder Research Prize, the 2023 American Academy of Periodontology Earl Robinson Regeneration Award, the 2022 AAP Foundation Nevins Clinical Research Fellowship, the 2021 Italian Society of Periodontology Goldman Clinical Research Award, and the 2020 AAP Balint Orban Research Award, among others.
Dr. Lorenzo Tavelli, together with Dr. Shayan Barootchi, is the inventor of the Tunneled Coronally Advanced Flap (TCAF), the novel soft tissue flap approach and treatment philosophy that is being worldwide utilized for the management of soft tissue deformities around teeth and implants.
This course focuses on real-life common clinical situations and how soft tissue grafting and its manipulation can improve outcomes and solve clinical problems, following a problem-focused approach. It provides scientific background, theoretical explanations, lectures, cases and surgical videos to explore the management of soft tissues around teeth and implants, based on predictable and novel surgical techniques.

The ultimate Perio-Prostho course: From single implant to FP-1 rehabilitation
We were all very happy, proud, and motivated during these two days when we welcomed Dr. Ramon Gomez-Meda. In a warm and collegial exchange, he shared his protocols for extraction, implant placement, and immediate loading in the anterior sector. We were also able to discover his tips and tricks for managing tissue defects.
He spent a great deal of time sharing his protocols and tips and tricks for full-arch implants, especially FP1 cases. In the typical Paroplastic spirit, we were able to exchange with complete transparency. And of course, we spent a lot of time — and had a lot of fun — talking with each participant, as we always do, in this friendly, high-energy working atmosphere.
It was fantastic! For its second edition, this special format gave us the opportunity to discover and apply reproducible solutions, directly transferable to our daily practice.
We explored the management of dental, implant, and soft tissue restorations in the anterior zone, through clinical case presentations and numerous videos. The speakers shared the fundamentals with us, as well as their best tips and tricks, essential for mastering and achieving successful anterior aesthetic rehabilitations.

For the first time in France, these two international speakers shared the stage for two intensive days of knowledge-sharing on the management of aesthetic zones, both on natural teeth and implants. The goal was to provide an overview and address the key points of treatment planning and execution for aesthetic restoration cases.
They brilliantly demonstrated how technology can provide shortcuts and strengthen the process, without losing the traditional versatility of analog methods.
