An exclusive immersion at the heart of a specialized practice

Some knowledge is gained through training courses. Other things can only be discovered through daily contact with clinical practice.

This is the idea behind Paroplastic Over The Shoulder. For two days, a deliberately small group is welcomed into our practice to experience a complete immersion, as close as possible to the clinical and organizational reality.

You will attend live surgical procedures, observe each step of the interventions, understand the therapeutic choices guiding every decision, and discover the many details that contribute to the quality and reproducibility of the results.

But the experience goes far beyond surgery itself. You will share in the daily life of an entire team: patient preparation, organization of surgical days, coordination between practitioners and assistants, the role of the coordinator, communication, handling the unexpected, internal protocols, and the overall functioning of a specialized practice.

Over The Shoulder offers privileged access to this entire ecosystem, in a spirit of exchange, transparency, and closeness.

Over the course of these two immersion days, you will attend four live periodontal plastic surgery procedures, including techniques such as:

  • tunneling;
  • coronally advanced flap with buried connective tissue graft;
  • free gingival grafts.

Each case is presented beforehand, discussed during the procedure, and then analyzed afterward in order to explain the therapeutic choices, the key points of the procedure, and the technical details that influence the final outcome.

The deliberately limited format allows for ongoing interaction with the team and leaves plenty of room for questions, clinical discussions, and the sharing of experience.

Because the most enriching exchanges often happen outside of surgery time, two special moments punctuate this immersion.

On Wednesday evening, a welcome reception brings together participants and the Paroplastic team in a friendly setting. It’s a chance to get acquainted, learn about each other’s backgrounds, and build a real sense of group dynamic before the procedures begin.

On Thursday evening, a dinner extends this experience with open and genuine conversation. Discussions naturally continue on clinical strategies, practice organization, team management, the patient journey, developing a specialized activity, and the many lessons drawn from everyday experience. These shared moments are fully part of the DNA of Over The Shoulder.

Each procedure is explained in detail before, during, and after surgery. Beyond the surgical protocols, we share the details that often make the difference:

case preparation, decision-making criteria, tissue management, organization of the surgical setup, communication with the team, anticipating complications, and optimizing results.

This immersion also offers a chance to discover the organizational methods that support a specialized practice: division of roles, coordination between the various team members, internal protocols, the patient journey, and an entrepreneurial vision.

The small-group format fosters a unique closeness with the entire team and allows for direct, spontaneous, and personalized exchanges throughout the two days.
